IWSS Scientist Travel Support Awards
Criteria for Selection of Recipients

The IWSS and the Local Organizing Committee of the International Weed Science Congress (IWSC) will grant partial travel support for scientists who need support to attend the IWSC – Nanjing scheduled on 19-25 October 2025. This travel grant will be paid by reimbursement of partial or full registration cost at the IWSC-Nanjing. Following is the procedure to apply for this grant:

1. Prepare an application packet with the following content:
   

   a. A cover letter summarizing current role, career goals and aspirations, plus the following specific information
   i. Contribution to local, national, or regional weed science society;
   ii. Title of the paper to be presented as a presenting (first) author at the IWSC-Nanjing;
   iii. Information if the applicant is bringing a student or researcher to the Congress;
   iv. Previous participation in IWSC or other international weed science meetings;

   b. Letter of support from employer, certifying the role of the scientist at his/her institution, and indicating permission to attend the Congress.

   c. Curriculum Vitae
   d. Abstract of the paper to be presented at the IWSC-Nanjing as a presenting author
   e. Level of Registration Fee subsidy needed: 50%, 75%, 100%

2. Please send the application packet as one pdf document to the Chair of the Scientist Travel Support Award Committee and IWSS Vice-President, Do-Soon Kim dosoonkim@snu.ac.kr, on or before June 15th, 2025.
3. Recipients will be notified after final selection to give the applicants sufficient time to process their registration and avail of the Early Bird Registration Fee until June 30th, 2025.
